The pediatricians at GUP have decided to concentrate our efforts by only seeing office based patients. Our decision has evolved over time in regards to excellent pediatric hospitalist coverage in the local hospitals, few numbers of pediatric admissions, as well as the desire to have more time to address vaccine, antibiotic, and behavior issues during regular office visits.

A pediatric hospitalist is a board certified pediatrician who provides care of hospitalized children. We have had great experience with the hospitalists at Jeff Gordon’s Children’s Hospital in Concord and Hemby Children’s Hospital in Charlotte.

In the event your child becomes ill, you will contact our providers via the office or after hours nurses and we will make the appropriate recommendation for your child’s after hours care. We will requests records from any emergency room visit or hospitalization and thus easily maintain the continuity of your child’s care.

Newborn care will be provided by neonatal nurse practitioners or physician providers at the hospital the infant is delivered.
