We know that navigating insurance can feel like a maze. Our goal is to help you navigate it with confidence and avoid surprises.
Every plan has its own requirements, coverage limits, and networks, and those details can change without notice. The most accurate way to confirm whether we participate with your plan is to check directly with your insurance company.
Newborn Insurance Coverage
Please be aware that newborns are not automatically covered under the parents’ insurance plan. Parents must contact their insurance provider as soon as possible after delivery to add the baby to the policy. This step ensures that your newborn’s visits are covered and that claims can be processed correctly.
Please be aware that you may be responsible for bills from the newborn period if this process is not completed or if our practice is not in-network with your insurance plan.
Confirming Coverage
While we participate with most of the major insurance carriers, we are out-of-network with a handful of plans. Most of these are tied to hospital systems, including certain Atrium and Novant–restricted PPO or High Performance Network (HPN) plans. We also do not participate with AmeriHealth Caritas or UnitedHealthcare Community Plan Medicaid MCOs.
Your Responsibility
It is each family’s responsibility to know the limits and coverage of their policy, to show an up-to-date insurance card at every visit, and to pay any required copays at the time of service. Our staff can help with general questions, but your insurance company is the best source for details about benefits and referrals.
Billing and Claims
Our billing team is located in-house and is diligent about investigating any discrepancies before a bill is sent. If you receive a bill, please know that we have already completed a careful review and billed according to federal guidelines and the actual services provided.
If a claim is denied or seems incorrect, start by contacting your insurance company to understand the reason. Many issues are resolved quickly once your insurer explains what is covered under your plan.
